White Grizzly Lodge is nestled at the north end of the spectacular Kootenay Lake. Our unique location offers access to a wide variety of rides that will keep you entertained and inspired. Explore long and winding roads that climb in every direction, with lakes, rivers, and creeks meandering through the landscape. From long-loop tours and epic valley climbs that reach the alpine to casual valley-bottom rides, we have something for every cyclist.
After your ride, take a refreshing swim in Duncan or Kootenay Lake and then unwind in our cozy, timber-frame lodge, with incredible food, and share stories of the day around a fire.

Svein’s love for the mountains and gravel biking brought him back to the Kootenays after a prestigious career racing in some of the world’s most challenging and renowned competitions. Living in Nelson, BC, with his wife Justine and their two children, Svein is passionate about sharing the beauty of gravel biking in the mountains and the lessons learned from a life on two wheels.

Sample Itinerary
Day 1: Introductions and meet and greet ride of 40km in the vicinity of White Grizzly Lodge.
Day 2: The big loop! This will be a challenging day in the saddle showcasing the beauty of the Kootenays. It will also be our biggest ride, consisting of 90-100 kms of mixed terrain, single track, long FSR climbs, and an amazing descent.
Day 3: Our final day will offer alternatives for those who want to ride shorter or longer depending on how you’ve recovered from the previous days.
