BARTENDER & HOST

Location: Meadow Creek, BC

Hours: Full time /  3 to 4 days shift

About Us: Join our vibrant lodge crew and spend the winter in a cozy log cabin nestled in the Selkirk Mountains. We operate cat skiing trips from our main lodge and cat touring trips from Wild Bear Lodge, catering to small groups of 8–12 guests.

Job Description:

The Bartender/Host at White Grizzly Adventures plays a key role in ensuring smooth daily lodge operations, with a focus on hosting and entertaining guests, bartending, and helping prepare for guest arrivals. This position is hands-on, fast-paced, and essential to delivering an outstanding guest experience in a remote mountain lodge setting.

Key responsibilities:

• Guest Hosting: Greet and welcome guests, and maintain a warm and intimate lodge atmosphere. 
• Bartending: Craft and serve beverages (beer, wine, spirits, cocktails), manage bar inventory. 
• Event Support: Assist with in‑lodge activities and après‑ski gatherings through engaging service and hospitality.
• Lodge Operations: Support daily tasks such as light cleaning, restocking, and coordination with guides for smooth guest experiences. 

This position may include additional tasks and helping with daily lodge operations such as assisting with daily tidying of lodge, laundry, snow shovelling, to help  ensure all communal areas are spotlessly clean and presented beautifully.

The Bartender/Host may help ensure the safety of mountain operations by maintaining two-way radio communication. 

The activities and decision-making responsibilities of the Kitchen Bartender/Host are varied in nature, and often require independent judgement and action to work through common situations..  Unusual situations or questionable matters will be resolved with the Lodge Manager.

SEASONAL LODGE PHOTOGRAPHER

Location: Meadow Creek, BC

Hours: Part time / 2 shifts per week

About Us: White Grizzly Adventures operates one of BC’s most unique catskiing experiences, deep in the Kootenay backcountry in Meadow Creek, BC. We deliver exceptional skiing alongside genuine, soulful lodge hospitality, and the photographer plays a central role in both. You’ll spend your working days riding with our guided groups, capturing everything from deep-powder action to the warm in-between moments that make a White Grizzly trip unforgettable.

Job Description:

You’ll join our mountain team for one day on each of our guests’ three or four day trips, riding/skiing with them and documenting their experience through photos, video, drone footage, and 360 content. Each evening, you’ll edit and present a same-day highlight slideshow, typically 7–8 minutes long, before facilitating photo package sales and managing media uploads. Alongside this, you’ll work with our marketing coordinator to shoot content for our social media channels.

This is a high-energy, time-sensitive role that rewards creative initiative, strong communication, and efficient workflow. You’ll work closely with guides, lodge staff, and management throughout the season. We’re a professional team putting together a high-end experience for guests, and the photographer must work harmoniously with their fellow staff to deliver exceptional quality workmanship and media.

This role can be filled by one person or it can be a shared role throughout the season. This is dependent on the applications received.

Key Responsibilities

On the Mountain

• • Ride with guided groups and capture still and movie skiing/snowboarding action, group moments, candid shots, scenery, drone footage, and 360 content throughout the day

• • Communicate closely with guides at each run to understand positioning, safety, and shot opportunities

• • Manage your media actively during the day, culling images and trimming clips between runs to streamline the evening edit

• • Aim to capture at least multiple strong shots of every guest, plus a broad variety of terrain, atmosphere, and team moments

Evening Edit & Slideshow

• • Return to the lodge and complete a polished highlight edit (7–8 minutes minimum) within a 3.5–4 hour window

• • Present the slideshow to guests after dinner, introducing the edit and facilitating photo package sales

• • Record guest purchases and pass accurate sales lists to lodge management for billing at checkout

Media Management

• • Tag guest photos with names in metadata before uploading

• • Upload purchased packages and slideshow to White Grizzly’s SmugMug account following each shift

• • Complete any additional shot lists or content requests from the marketing team or management

• • Arrive at the lodge by 6:00 PM the evening before each shift for guest introductions and preparation

Social media

• • Work alongside our marketing team to post high quality social media content after each guest trip.

What We’re Looking For

Skills and Experience:

• • Strong portfolio in ski/snowboard sports photography.

• • Advanced to expert backcountry skiing or snowboarding ability

• • Proficient in photo and video editing software with a fast, reliable workflow

• • Experienced and safe drone pilot

• • Comfortable shooting with telephoto, wide-angle, and action cameras

• • AST 1 avalanche certification (or international equivalent)

CERTIFIED SKI GUIDE (ACMG/CSGA 3)

Location: Meadow Creek, BC

About Us: White Grizzly Catskiing is a small, family-owned operation located in the Selkirk Mountains near Meadow Creek, BC. We generally operate 1 snow cat and specialize in small group experiences and a welcoming, down-to-earth lodge atmosphere. Our terrain offers a mix of open alpine, glades, and steep tree skiing, with an emphasis on quality snow and guest experience.

Position Overview
We are seeking a professional, certified Ski Guide to join our team for the 2026–27 winter season. The ideal candidate thrives in a small team environment and is committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences while maintaining the highest standards of safety. Additionally, there is potential for cat-assisted ski touring work

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage single cat group of intermediate to advanced skiers in a backcountry catskiing environment
• Ensure guest safety through terrain selection, hazard assessment, and avalanche risk management
• Deliver a fun, engaging, and professional guest experience
• Work collaboratively with 2 tail guides.
• Participate in daily guiding meetings, snowpack assessments, and operational planning
• Assist with guest orientation and safety briefings
• Support lodge and operational duties as needed in a small team setting

Qualifications

• ACMG Certified Ski Guide, or CSGA 3. Possible opportunity for apprentice guides to work under supervision.
• Up-to-date PEAK NUEC or Wilderness First Aid (80hr minimum).
• Experience guiding mechanized skiing (catskiing or heli-skiing) is an asset
• Valid Class 4 driver’s license an asset

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive daily guiding rate (based on certification and experience)
• A half-day rate is paid for the arrival day, starting at 4 pm.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Working with other team members to exceed guest satisfaction by providing a superior White Grizzly Adventure. Oversee daily operations in the lodge ensuring an amazing guest experience. This may include administrative and maintenance work. This position involves regular communication with guests and team members. Direction is received from the lodge manager in matters pertaining to guest and team needs, lodge operations  and lodge maintenance. Ensure safety of mountain operations by communication on two-way radio.

 

As with other positions at White Grizzly, the Assistant Lodge Manager  is an evolving position and the associated responsibilities may shift over time – as we continue to adapt with the experience and feedback of our team- in order to provide the highest possible standard of service in our industry.  Position titles may be adjusted to reflect these changes, if and when they occur.

DIMENSIONS

• Caring for 12 guests plus team members including checking guests in and checking guest out.

• Working closely with the Lodge Manager, Chef, Lodge Assistant and Housekeeper.
• Participates in creating an amazing guest experience in all aspects of lodge function with positive team management.
• Maintains records and inventory
• Responsible for advising of equipment requirements, notifying prior to shortages of supplies. 
• Responsible for snow removal, daily hot tub maintenance,

ROLE OF POSITION

Like all roles within White Grizzly the chef is a face of the operation. They are expected to conduct themselves professionally in line with the details outlined in the Team Member Handbook.

The Assistant Lodge Manager  is an evolving position and the associated responsibilities may shift over time – as we continue to adapt with the experience and feedback of our team- in order to provide the highest possible standard of service in our industry.  Position titles may be adjusted to reflect these changes, if and when they occur.

They report and work under the Lodge Team while on the lodge site, they must adhere to all operating rules and requests from their superiors.

ASSISTANT LODGE MANAGER: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS

Primary Responsibilities:

Guest Experience & Lodge Operations

• Oversee  check-in/check-out for up to 12 guests
• Collaborate closely with the Lodge Manager, Chef, Lodge Assistant, Bartender/Host  and Housekeeper
• Support and help lead a positive, guest-focused team culture
• Respond to guest needs promptly and professionally
• Maintain daily lodge presentation and cleanliness

Administrative & Inventory Management

• Keep accurate records: radio logs, messages, inventory, expenses, and guest feedback
• Monitor supply levels and communicate purchasing needs
• Organize and manage merchandise inventory and sales
• Order and procure supplies locally as needed

Facilities & Safety

• Perform daily snow removal and hot tub maintenance
• Assign rooms for guests and staff
• Understand and assist with the Emergency Response Plan
• Maintain regular radio contact with mountain operations to support guest safety

Hospitality Duties

• Guest interaction and occasional bartending
• Ensure the lodge environment is warm, welcoming, and aligned with White Grizzly standards

 

Other Requirements:

• 2+ years in hospitality or lodge operations
• Excellent communication, strong organization, leadership, ability to delegate
• Self-directed, team-oriented, adaptable, problem-solver
• Above average physical fitness required
• Comfortable using radios and maintaining clear written records
