Our Location
White Grizzly Cat Skiing Lodge is located in Meadow Creek, BC, just off Highway 31, at the north end of Kootenay Lake. There are two ways to reach Meadow Creek, following the highway south from Revelstoke, or north from Kaslo. A large section of road from Revelstoke is unpaved, and the highways in both directions travel through mountain passes where winter storms can come on suddenly. The roads are well maintained, however, they are sometimes covered in compact snow or ice. We strongly recommend that you bring a 4-wheel drive vehicle to come snowcat skiing here.
Detailed Travel Information
Flying into Spokane, Washington
For most international guests, flying into Spokane, Washington is the most common route. There are easy car rental options (make sure you get at least AWD with chains) and many airport hotels if you arrive late. From Spokane you can drive north 2.5 hours to the Nelway border crossing (currently 8am-8pm coming INTO Canada and 8am-4pm LEAVING Canada) or alternatively the Patterson border crossing, which is open 24hrs a day. From there it is a 2.5hr drive to White Grizzly Lodge via Nelson.
The route from Nelson winds along the shores of Kootenay Lake, through the picturesque town of Kaslo (well worth a stop!) and is easily the most beautiful drive in the Kootenays.

Nelson info
We love Nelson! Just 1.5 hours from the lodge, this is a great pit stop either on the way or on the way home. Whitewater Ski Resort offers a fantastic warmup and it’s possible to ski in the morning, leave around 2pm and be at White Grizzly Lodge between 4-6pm the day before your first day of cat skiing. Whitewater also offers WG guests a nice 20% discount off All-Mountain Full Day lift passes. (To redeem this deal, go to Guest Services with ID and proof of purchase from White Grizzly.) We offer discount packages to our guests for The Savoy Hotel and The Lakeside Prestige, which are both located downtown and within walking distance of Nelson’s great eating and drinking establishments.
Revelstoke info
Revelstoke is also a popular stop en route. It offers the awesome Revelstoke Mountain Resort, with many great hotels and eating options. Allow 4 hours travel to us from Revelstoke and be aware that the Trout Lake Road (Highway 31) from Galena can be closed due to avalanche control and is a winding, often unplowed dirt road. We recommend Highway 6 to New Denver across to Kaslo instead.
