New for Winter 2024-2025 Season

Extend your cat ski vacation with a human-powered adventure exploring the Kootenay backcountry. Our guided ski touring and split-boarding tours will take you into prime terrain, deep powder, and pristine lines under the watchful eye of professional ACMG guides. Led by our sister company, Kootenay Backcountry Guides, this is the perfect pre or post trip to your time at White Grizzly. Book at the same time as your cat ski trip, to ensure we have a guide ready for your ski touring adventure.

Why Ski Touring?

Earn your turns while experiencing the solitude of the mountains. Ski touring is the perfect yin to cat skiing’s yang. Our ski touring terrain is totally separate from our cat skiing zones, so you will have the chance to explore a new area in a small group. We cater to all abilities, from complete newbies to experienced backcountry enthusiasts. If you’ve always wanted to try the sport, here’s your chance.

How It Works

Our guided ski touring program uses lodging in Nelson. Choose from a single-day or multi-day tours. Group size is from 2-5 guests. We can arrange rental equipment if required, and ensure we have a guide for your preferred dates. Simply select the ski touring option at the time of booking (or if you’ve already booked just let us know and we’ll do our best to fit you in). Our goal is to make the transition from the cat to the skin track as seamless as possible.
