The cat is parked. The last light fades off the ridge. Inside, the fire hums and boots line the wall. Welcome to Wild Bear Lodge.
For more than 25 years, White Grizzly Lodge has been home base for our cat skiing program. It remains the heart of what we do. But as our adventures evolve, we’ve added a second home, Wild Bear Lodge, a space built for smaller groups, cat-assisted ski touring guests, and occasional media trips that need solitude and focus.
Built for the Backcountry
Wild Bear Lodge sits at the foot of our terrain in the Selkirk Mountains, roughly equidistant from Calgary, Vancouver, and Spokane. It’s surrounded by the world’s largest inland temperate rainforest, a rare mix of old-growth cedar, deep valleys, and true wilderness.
We live and operate entirely off-grid. Power comes mostly from solar; heat from wood we chop ourselves. We grow many of our herbs and vegetables right on-site.
The lodge was built by local artisans using traditional timber-framing techniques. Its front wall of glass looks out over the garden and the river beyond. Over the years, we’ve seen grizzlies, black bears, moose, cougars, even a porcupine or two, wander past the window.
A Different Kind of Stay
For cat-assisted ski touring, Wild Bear Lodge offers an intimate, private experience with direct access to the mountains. Step outside, hop in the cat, and go.
The layout also makes it ideal for full-lodge crew bookings and media projects that need quiet space away from main operations.
Two lodges, one crew, the same White Grizzly heartbeat — steep trees, good food, and the people who make it all work.
Join us at Wild Bear Lodge this winter on a new White Grizzly Adventure, Cat-Assisted Ski Touring!
