Ride the koots

Champagne powder? None of that here. Our mountains are famous for Kootenay Coldsmoke and are the perfect playground for advanced-expert riders who like steep trees, fun features, and good times ripping it up with friends in the backcountry. Nestled in one of BC’s most reliable snow belts, we get an average of 11-15m (that’s 36-50 ft) of snow each season. At White Grizzly it’s all about the skiing. Our guests tell us we have the most interesting terrain of any cat ski lodge they’ve been to. Our expert guides and small groups provide a more intimate mountain experience.

The Lodge

Our cat ski lodge is rustic luxury in the mountains of BC. Unwind with delicious aprês and a cold brew after a day on the slopes in the cozy open-fireplace lounge. The lodge sleeps just 12 guests and has a laidback vibe, passionate staff, and a great chef. It has a hot tub and wifi too, for sharing ski photos with your jealous buddies back home.

Getting to the griz

Situated in a remote spot at the north end of Kootenay Lake in the Selkirk Mountains, the lodge is off-the-beaten track, yet easily accessible. It’s just a 90-minute drive from the famous ski town of Nelson, BC. Many guests combine a trip here with a few days at Whitewater Resort. An AWD with snow tires is recommended.
